FBackup is a handy tool that allows you to create backups of files or entire folders using a simple, neat and straightforward wizard-like interface. It's a very easy-to-use application that even complete beginners can handle without any problem. The users can easily define what data to back up, to what location (local folders or network drives), and also at what time, as scheduling is also supported. File filters are also available, allowing you to exclude certain file types and formats from being included in the backup jobs.
The backup jobs can also be protected using simple yet reliable password-based encryption. Though incremental backups are not supported, you can still choose between full backups or mirrored ones. Compression using the ZIP64 standard is also possible.
A really cool thing about this app is the fact that it supports plugins, which means that you can extend its functionality and make it capable of backing up specific program settings or other custom data (like game saves, email data, etc.).
For a free application FBackup offers a lot of handy features and functions and this makes it one of the most interesting and appealing backup solutions that I know of. Even though it's the lighter version of the commercial Backup4all program and it doesn't support features like incremental backups or backing up to FTP servers, I still think it's one of the best backup solutions that you can get for free.
It is a program that automates your routine manual file copying actions.
