FBackup is a simple application that offers an easy and convenient way of creating backups. It can backup files or entire folders and it’s free for both commercial and personal use.
The best thing about FBackup is its wizard-driven interface that guides you step-by-step through the backup job creation process, letting you easily define what to backup, where to backup, when to backup and how to backup. It can backup to various locations, including the local hard drive but also an external USB/Firewire drive or a mapped network drive. The backup jobs can also be scheduled to be automatically performed at predefined future times, without any additional user intervention.
This powerful tool can also compress the files using standard zip compression. Password-protecting the zipped backup file is also possible. Zipping the backup files is possible in the case of full backups, but this tool can also create mirror backups that recreate the source exactly as it is, without zipping it.
To sum it all up, though free and easy-to-use, FBackup is a reliable and powerful backup solution that doesn’t disappoint and works like a charm. In my opinion, it’s worth trying, as few other backup tools offer so many advantages for free.
- Can compress the backup files
- Incremental backups are not supported.
- Doesn't support backing up to FTP servers
